ROBERT is the latest robotic equipment used to improve the rehabilitation treatment process and benefit health workers and the community. ROBERT is the first robot in the world specially designed to provide rehabilitation treatment to patients who are bedridden and have reduced abilities due to Stroke, Trauma or any related illness.
This robotic equipment helps the patient to initiate movement and begin to move from a recumbent state. It is important to provide rehabilitation treatment as early as possible even if the patient is still bedridden or still in the hospital.
The use of this tool is practical because it is easy to move from one place to another. Accordingly, patients can remain in bed and focus on undergoing therapy and at the same time do not need to move to another training facility or bed to undergo therapy.
A brace will be placed on the patient's leg (lower leg). Next, Robert will be placed on the side of the bed and placed with the patient's legs. The brake is activated and Robert will start working on the therapy. The two parts will be attached by placing the robot hand to the bracket part. The therapist will do a demo exercise on the patient first and the robot will do the same movement on the patient.
The therapeutic movements given by Robert are not only given in certain exercises. It will mimic the movements shown by the therapist in the beginning. Among the exercises given is moving the patient's legs such as doing instances of flexion, abduction and rotation.
At PRPSA, Occupational Therapists works with clients through a rehabilitation plan that is appropriate according to the needs of the injury or illness experienced.
Occupational therapists focus on activities of daily living (ADL) treatment that train individuals with disabilities to perform daily life routines. Each client will be trained in various skills such as personal hygiene, laundry, basic financial management and personal care.
Occupational Therapy offers treatment through a basic cognitive assessment and planning exercises and prevention based on the client’s needs.
The main objectives for rehabilitation treatment through Occupational Therapy are as follows :
- Preventing the level of permanent disability-through home evaluation and modification, use of appropriate equipment (adaptive equipment), education and ergonomic classes.
- Perform daily life activities independently according to the maximum level of functionality such as bathing, cooking and household activities. Etc : Self-functionality level.
- Maintain well-being by learning how to manage yourself through wearing and decorating yourself.
- 4. Improve hand and fine motor functionality through the use of high-tech equipment such as ArmMotus, WristMotus, SmartPegboard and FlintRehab (FitMi and music glove).
